Do Not Neglect Your Garage Door!

We all know the hassle that comes with having a broken garage door. From not being able to open it or close it properly, to it being a hazard around little children, to it being a safety concern for theft, ensuring that your garage door is working properly is a must. The main reason that garage doors break is due to poor maintenance. Often homeowners don’t maintain their garage doors like they would their vehicle, as other home maintenance tends to take priority. If your garage door breaks, the garage door repair Cincinnati technicians can provide you with a consultation and quote.

How to Maintain Your Garage Door

First off, you should always inspect the hardware of the door for wear and tear, this includes: moving parts such springs cables and rollers. If there is wear and tear, either you can fix it, or you can have a repair technician fix it for you. Once any repairs have been completed, you should look to apply lubricant that comes in an aerosol spray as you will want to use it on the moving portions of your door. You should be looking to spray all hinges and rollers, including the hinges that appear on door panels, and the lock mechanism of your door. You should always spray the lubricant evenly, and work it until it is evenly distributed. Finally, you should look at doing this at least once a year as this will keep your door in good condition, which will help you avoid a costly replacement.

grandparents’ day

the sweetest moment.  i love this picture.  ruby and her bop.

For those who don’t know, Brian and I have 19 grandchildren (with two more on the way this summer!).  We are so blessed to have all these wonderful children in our lives who we love so dearly and who so sweetly love us back.  A while back we were invited to Grandparent’s Day at the grade school of one of our grandchildren.  Each child had drawn a picture of one of their grandparents…
…you guessed it.
That is me as seen through the eyes of my 6 year old granddaughter.
I love this drawing so much.  I can’t decide what my favorite detail is… the collagen lips, the floating eyebrows, the fantastic hair, the purple shirt with a giant flower in the middle…
Really, I just love all the hearts floating all around.
I certainly am one blessed and very loved Gigi.

survival kits

Last week all the lovely Willowettes went out for the evening to celebrate some birthdays and all enjoy a girls’ night out.  We hit up NoRTH and absolutely loved the food!  If you haven’t been, definitely give it a try next time you are looking for a new dinner spot.  Our wonderful Meg and Maddy surprised us all with these adorable little “survival kits” all wrapped up to perfection in mason jars with a little personalized note to each of us.  They were filled with mini bottles of wine, lint rollers, lip gloss, lotion and more!  What a great gift!  You could put so many different spins on this fantastic idea, so I couldn’t help but share…

bike shop

One of my favorite places for shopping and dining in California is {The LAB}.  It is this funky little center (known as the anti-mall) with great shops and restaurants (Habana is one of my very favorites!).  In the parking lot at the Lab is this awesome airstream turned bike shop.  I absolutely love the atmosphere this guy has created and will be sure to pick up a bike from him next time I need one.  If you are in the area, be sure to stop by.  And do check out the amazing vintage crates he makes into bike baskets!

I absolutely love his business hours sign.
Do you think we could get away with this at the Willows?

I only have a few days left in beautiful California, any more suggestions on places I absolutely don’t want to miss this trip?  I would love a new shop or restaurant to try out!
