around the shop

Just another day around the shop.
Thought you might like to peek in…

vignette design

Here is a little sneak peek of a design project we did for a client a couple weeks ago.  We set up an in-store presentation to give her some general ideas of what we could do in her home.  We put together a contemporary design vignette set-up that she loved.  Did you know we have a full design team available to you through our store?  You can set up a meeting at the store where we can walk you through ideas for your home or we can come to you!  Call the store for details today!

chestnut pop-up!

For those of you who came out on Thursday for the Chestnut Lane pop-up cafe, thank you so much for helping make it a success!  And for those that were not able to make it, we are sorry you missed out!  Be sure to keep your ears open for the next pop-up, as you won’t want to miss it!  The food was all amazing (as usual) and everyone had a wonderful time!
Thank you, ladies, for setting up such a beautiful spread in our shop!

just a few…

Another very busy day at mart yesterday!  There are beautiful signs of spring popping up around every corner (indoors, of course)!  We are getting more and more excited for our upcoming garden shop!  We hope you are, too!  We ended the busy day with dinner at the Gramercy Park Hotel.  Amazing Italian pasta – so yummy!  Laughs, stories, wine and good food…  what a great way to spend the evening!  The hotel itself was absolutely stunning!  It was decorated by Philip Starks and we could have just walked around inside it forever.  We are off on the hunt for more amazing garden treasures today!  Wish us well!

watches

I found these great watches at cash and carry at market and couldn’t help but pick up a whole bag of them.  I think little and big girls alike would love them!  We are planning a sweet sixteen party for a friend and are planning on using these as party favors.  Look for pictures of the party to come!

And speaking of great finds…
I discovered these amazing voyage blue indigo fabric and throw rugs!  Call the store if you’re interested!

start collecting

Loved this look we saw in California!
This showroom was all set up for an evening wine tasting.
I just adore all the different vases and jars lining the tables.
It makes me want to start picking up any jar or vase I come across at the flea market!
Just gorgeous!

happy friday!

Boy, am I ready for the weekend.  We are having a little going away birthday party for my son Alex today, as he is leaving to go back to college tomorrow.  Other than that I am hoping to spend some time just relaxing around the house.  Hope you have something fun planned!

have a seat

I really love this new chair we have in the store.  As usual, I was tempted to throw it in the back of my truck and bring it to the beach house…  I could be sitting in it right now drinking my coffee and enjoying the summer breeze coming through the open door.  Man, I love being at the beach.  Oh, sidetracked.  I also really love this chair…

an epiphany party

Last night we had some of the grandkids over for a little Epiphany party to celebrate the end of the Christmas season.  We had our three kings and a lovely little procession of cute kids around the house, ending at the Christmas tree where there were treat bags for each of them (bought and packaged at smeeks!).  Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season this year!  We thoroughly enjoyed ours!

The lips and mustaches in the goodie bags definitely provided us with some major giggles…
