We finally have pictures of the garden shop to share! Things were so busy last week with all our events and all the wonderful customers who came by to see the new shop and support us! Thank you, thank you! So, for those who are far or those who haven’t made it in just yet, here is a little something to tempt you with…
Last week all the lovely Willowettes went out for the evening to celebrate some birthdays and all enjoy a girls’ night out. We hit up NoRTH and absolutely loved the food! If you haven’t been, definitely give it a try next time you are looking for a new dinner spot. Our wonderful Meg and Maddy surprised us all with these adorable little “survival kits” all wrapped up to perfection in mason jars with a little personalized note to each of us. They were filled with mini bottles of wine, lint rollers, lip gloss, lotion and more! What a great gift! You could put so many different spins on this fantastic idea, so I couldn’t help but share…
The always lovely, Lisa from the Willows shared this sweet picture with us. She planted wildflower seeds in egg shells and got the very first sprouts Easter morning! What a beautiful way to start the day!
Despite all our hard work and long hours over the weekend getting the new garden shop all ready for this week, we still found a little time to have some fun at a great St. Patrick’s Day block party…
New to me, at least. I love getting new inspirations for salads, since I always seem to make the same one. So, I thought I would pass along this salad, in case you are looking for a new one to try also. My daughter in law made this the other night and brought it over for dinner. She was inspired by a salad she had at a local restaurant recently and it really is so delicious and so very good for you. What a great way to start off the new year with a new healthy recipe to add to your rotation. Let us know if you try it and what you think!
- chopped kale
- chopped carrots
- chopped snap peas
- chopped roasted brussel sprouts
- sliced almonds
- parmesan cheese
toss all ingredients in olive oil and lemon juice and serve. (or devour!)
The Willows’ Design Team recently had the wonderful experience of redecorating two girls’ bedrooms for one of our lovely clients’ daughters. I just have to say, what an amazing team we have. Every time I work with these people I am inspired and amazed. I thought I would share a little peek at what we did. Our main goal was to create their personality into their rooms without being too typical, while at the same time giving them something that could transition into their teen years. We were starting with pink, little girl rooms and, hopefully, have ended up with something a little more original that transcends any one stage of childhood. The bedding especially can transition from little girl to teen to one day visiting college grad. It’s colorful without being childish and as soft and cozy as anyone would want. The rugs, too, are totally kid-friendly (and pet-friendly) without looking like they belong in a child’s room. They will stand up against the spills of today with friends, nail polish, etc. and still look relevant as the girls get older. As for creating based on their personalities, the first daughter is an avid reader and we wanted to give her a space for that. We turned her old dollhouse into a bookshelf (we tried to repurpose as much as we could with what they already had in their rooms) and made a cozy little reading nook for her. The second daughter loves to sing and dance and entertain, so we came up with a little stage for the corner of her room. Between our colorista, Lisa Nicodemus with Visual Advantage Studio (who painted the bathrooms, the stage, etc.), our metal man Tom Tuberty (who did all the custom metal work we needed), Meg and Michael Elmore of Signature Restoration (a custom carpentry company that built our stage, the chalkboard, etc.) and the rest of our Willows’ Design Team, I am so impressed with how it all came together and what we created that I just wanted to share with you all…
